VOLUNTEERING
October 2019 - May 2020
GREEN IMPACT PROJECT ASSISTANT
I volunteered to help a department at UCL take steps towards acheiving their Bronze level Green impact and make their offices more sustainable. This varied from leading initiatives and designing new screensavers to remind office-workers to turn off their PC.
September 2014 - July 2015
HEAD OF MATHS AND PHYSICS SOCIETY
I was appointed head of the most popular society at school. I organised talks from both students and university lecturers and held the talks and discussions with 30+ people every friday lunchtime.
September 2014 - June 2015
PHYSICS MENTOR
This involved many meetings at lunchtime where I would help a year 11 girl to pass her physics GCSE where she struggled. This involved more of a Q&A session with me answering all her questions and helping her approach the exam in the best possible manner.
September 2013 - July 2014
MATHS TUTOR
I extended 3 particularly gifted Year 6 students in maths for an hour each week. I organised different maths problems and puzzles and communicated to them how apart from being fun maths was also useful. The problems I chose had some practical elements as well as teaching them further maths beyond their curriculum. By the end they had mastered all the topics I had put forward.
